In latest weeks, there have been disturbances in Christian prayer conferences in several components of Karnataka. A brand new invoice has been launched within the ongoing session of the state meeting in Belagavi, known as the Karnataka Safety of Proper to Freedom of Faith Invoice.

The federal government says the invoice is geared toward stopping compelled conversions, however critics say it’s focusing on minorities within the state and is harsher than related payments in different BJP-ruled states.

Protests in opposition to the invoice have been held, together with one in Bengaluru yesterday by which Archbishop Peter Machado participated.
